I mounted some vertebrae this week. What do you guys think? I threaded the brass rod myself and also made the simple bases out of walnut. Are the brass nuts way too much? Do any of you guys have any better suggestions or do they look ok as they are? Since these worked out ok, I'm going to do a few horse and deer vertebrae I have.

This has been probably the hardest month and a half of my life. around 6 weeks ago my wife left me. I tried to do counseling with her and everything that I knew how to do.
