I’m in a funk today.

Yesterday, I was killing pampas grass, which usually screws me up the next day with a clogged up sinus and perpetual headache. On top of that, my eyes are weird, and can’t look at a screen (like this one) for any significant amount of time without needing to close my eyes and look away. Christmas season leaves me frustrated and somewhat angsty. I mean, there's a lot of great stuff in the holiday, but i'm still bothered by it. I enjoy the the feeling it hopes to bring out. i like the randomness of bringing a tree into your house and decoreating it... i like the concept of "presents" as a way of showing that you care for people. i ( Read more... )

Once every 6 months or so, I open files I should have deleted long ago, but somehow can’t bring myself to delete. so last week i drove to south carolina without any major hitch; then on monday, i flew to boise (or tried to). in reality, what should have been 6 hours with one stopover, turned into 30 hours, with 3 stopovers, including a night spent sleeping in a relativly dark place in the denver airport.

i am seriously bothered by the fact that although i had no federal money withheld, the federal government wants to give me money back. This fucking "economic stimulus" idea pisses me off. it takes money that could be used for good purposes by the government and gives it to me, in hopes that i'll go on a spending spree to "stimulate" the one sector ( Read more... )
