I found a gecko in my sock!

Went to a good exhibition in London last week, Dirt at the Wellcome Collection, well worth a visit, its free and opens late on Thurs. Educational and interesting. Saw some great photos at the Tate modern too, especially the Diane Arbus and Boris Mihailov. Got back from a week in Gran Canaria yesterday. Was a very relaxing holiday which is just what I needed, no noisy chavs, just lots of old people and the odd young couple. I'm currently desparately trying to grab every moment of sunshine I can before the cold dark nights of winter, this weekend has been better than most of the summer so it was great to get out for some exercise and fresh air. Our household plus a few friends went to The Invisible Circus last night again for Carny Ville. It was different to last year, but equally as good (better in some areas, worse in others). Just got back from Knowle West Arts Centre which as far as I can tell is one of those lottery and local council funded initiatives to bring culture and arts to poor working class regions, who just don't seem in the slightest bit interested ( Read more... )

This afternoon Natalia came downstairs to tell me there was a bird upstairs. What seems to have happened is that her cat brought the bird in last night at some point and spent a good time torturing the poor bird in various rooms throughout the house before assuming it was dead and abandoning it upstairs. the bird was a very young bird so I guess it ( Read more... )
