Hank's threat to take Alex's temperature the old-fashioned way made me laugh. I'm sure you'll understand that I was a tiny bit disappointed when Alex co-operated and Hank didn't have to. ;D
I could see something like this happening, with Alex over-heating because he's trying so desperately hard to control what can't be controlled. I imagine it would have been difficult in the early days of meeting other mutants and learning about their powers to accept that for some people, there's only so much they can do-the problem can be contained, can be managed. But not eliminated, and only controlled so far.
I was a little disappointed that the boys didn't try old-fashioned temperature taking too! But Alex outright refused to participate. :)
I see Alex as being quite jealous of the other mutants, who all have the ability to switch off their abilities indefinitely, if they choose to. That's one of the reasons I think he finds solace with Beast!Hank, since neither of them have complete control over their abilities any more.
Wait. Is that actually a possibility? Could I really spontaneously combust? Because I could, then that's really something you should have said earlier!
That line is too funny. I like the banter in this and loved the woobie!Alex at the end. Great job
Thanks! I find that once they get past all the name-calling, and Hank stops being so easily offended, the boys have a lovely banter with each other. :D
Awww, that was adorable. Hank was perfect and I loved sick but trying to bluff his way through...but oh maybe I really am sick AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN I COULD SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST??? Alex. ;)
