I feel underqualified, unprepared, and generally not ready to be a student teacher, nevermind having my very own classroom in a year. I know in theory that I'm just as qualified as my fellow students (if not more so, since I have experience in education), but it's just so much to know and do. I'm writing a high school unit on conflict between individuals and society in diverse short stories. Can anyone give me any suggestions for short stories to use? This must be my weekend for randomly running into people from my alma mater, Grinnell College. Now, this is not some uncommon for someone who lives in Chicago, Minneapolis, DC, or is near a grad school, but I rarely find people who've _heard_ of Grinnell, and a miniscule amount that went there, since there are only around 17K alumni worldwide. It's been a while since I stayed up all night writing a paper, like I did last night. I got done at around 6:30 am, but by then it would be worse to sleep for an hour than stay up and sleep later.
