Things I frequently romanticize in my head that are probably nowhere near as cuddly in real life:
1. Panda bears.
2. Early 20th Century American Anarchists.
3. Medieval nuns.

Yesterday I begrudgingly paid an exorbitant fine to the city of San Francisco for being caught on the muni train with an expired transfer. You know, it's one thing to be late for work because you've overslept or stopped to get coffee or took the time to shave your legs in the shower or any other reason, but it feels really dorky to purposely get up twenty minutes early and then accidentally lose track of time sitting at the kitchen table knitting dishcloths and reading the New Yorker ( Read more... )

I put in my contact lenses for the first time in almost five years today.  They felt like little shards of rocks in my eyes, but I was able to leave them in for three hours.  Tomorrow I'll wear them for four and the day after that five.  When I'm done and can wear them all day long I don't think I'll feel much different, but I will definitely plan ( Read more... )
