As I type this there are torrential rains coming down. There's thunder and lightening and winds. This time there's no threat of tornadoes. The rains will slow relief work at all of the disaster sites. I learned of another expat long time volunteer passing away. Lia van de Donk, was a tenacious woman who ran a house/orphanage for children with HIV and/or physical disabilities in Jakmel. As you make a decision on where you'd like to place your donation money for Haitian relief, I would like for you to remember one fact...Haiti is made up of a diverse religious and spiritual culture.
