And "made do" meant that she practiced, and she practiced hard. For the past two days, she'd only let up her thorough investigation of the karaoke machine, what it contained, and how she could twist that to suit her voice long enough to eat and sleep, and sometimes she'd had to be prompted. Other times, she'd actually stumbled and almost collapsed on the stage.
No mistaking it: in her past life, she'd been a diva. But she'd been a genuinely hard-working one...or at least, she was willing to be now. It was hard to tell where these things came from.
By the night itself, Goodbye had settled on which songs she wanted and what alterations she'd make to make them hers. She needed the ( ... )

CONGRATULATIONS ♥
slathered on triumphantly with paint. She had, in fact, found the sparkling glitter for sale. The poster-board itself had to be salvaged, but it was cheaper that way! Besides, it was well worth it just to support her idol -- or, her sister, who might as well be her idol (and friendly competition? now wasn't the time to think of that) and for some reason this setting was all too familiar, but for once in the best of ways. Like she had been near that very stage, watching spellbound and unable to help singing along. Had she really been up there before as well, exactly the way she was in the dream? Would she do it again?
But that radiant smile pushed thoughts of her future aside, and she waved as the sign, a bit oversized for her, momentarily obscured her face.

Perhaps the entertainment would help draw in people. Not that Aurora was paying any attention to the scantily clad woman on the stage, or the girl advertising for her. Instead he found picking up debris far more interesting, starting piles for wood that could be salvaged and reused, and materials that were far too damaged to be handy.

She fell backwards with a resounding yelp, and it was likely the only way she would have noticed the quiet person taking care of damages close by. Who probably looked much better right-side-up. Flushed with embarrassment, Aimo lifted herself into a sitting position. There was something about those feminine looks that struck a chord.
"So pretty..."
She didn't quite realize that she'd said it aloud.

She wore a simple dress that she had picked up rather recently. She was off in the corner, listening to Goodbye as she organized drinks - nonalcoholic ones for once. Mostly just water and some juices she found. She kept her eyes on the people entering, smiling and waving at them all. She had to be thankful to people arriving, they were helping get her livelihood back after all. It was hard not to think about the fire, but seeing the faces of people happy again...it made her feel better, like she really was helping the Sphere.

And the bar was important. People gathered there; it was a good place to unwind and forge connections. Most importantly, the booze was there. So it only made sense for him to help out.
After a few minutes, he spotted a familiar but more-clothed figure and made his way over. "Hey there, sister." He grinned. "Hatched out of any gooey cocoons lately?"

"If I did, I'd surely would have invited you."She gave a little laugh. "How are you, Chapel? Fairing well, hopefully." She soon her attention back to the drinks.
"Would you like anything?" She looked back at him, brushing some hair from her face.

"I'm getting by. Can't complain about what the good lord's seen fit to give me," he said. "I'll take whatever's good." These days, as long as it was alcoholic, it was just fine with him.

There wasn't any clear direction for how to start. But there was damage, and there were things that looked like they needed to be moved around. He could lift, at least. So, picking up a few things that looked like they belonged inside rather than out, Youth headed in.

Turning to look at where Smoke was indicating, Youth nodded. "And I can brace it, too! I have learned this so far. What will be on the second story?" He started taking a look at the wall, searching for cracks and damage.

Smoke indicated the floor. "There's a stone base, but everything else'll end up being wood, I think, so if you can brace it that'd be awesome."

She would get better about that! But for now, she'd only carry things that could afford to be knocked around a little. No more havoc needed to be wreaked on this place. With that thought, and a smile at the ready, she stepped in through the doorway.

He walked over and gestured around. "Not quite the turn out I was hoping for just yet, but you never know, the night is young."
Hands on hips, he looked into her cute little face and asked very (not) seriously. "Now: do you think you're old enough to drink, or should I get you a juice instead?" He was teasing of course. He'd let her drink as long as she asked nicely.

But! This was more important. "Uh, thank you. Well, it doesn't seem very full, but at least I can pick a good seat then?"
His question prompted a moment of musing. "You know, I'm not entirely sure. I don't feel very old, but... I don't even remember what my favourite foods are! I just found out I don't like apples today, so if you have something not-apple..." She gave him a look perhaps too serious for the question. "Maybe it's better I figure that out some other time, because I did say I'd help, and if I haven't drunk before I could end up doing something silly or embarrassing or otherwise not conducive to you making a profit tonight.
"Just to be on the safe side, hmm?" She tilted her head. "So, what can I do?"

Then his eyes went wide as he got an idea, lightly pounding one fist into another. "Actually, I do know something - I completely forgot to raid housekeeping for cleaning supplies. You know, brooms and dustpans and rags and stuff. Maybe you can go ask to borrow that stuff?"
