Just realised the last post should have been the 27th of April... oh well. So I completely forgot how much time it takes to get stuff together to make sculpture and as a result have not actually started making anything, but I now have 3 big piles of wood, a large cool shaped branch to build off and a load of old carpet that came from this house ( Read more... ) -

Been away for a while, but decided to get back on things. Small hiatus for a few reasons. First of I didn't get on top the MFA course I was applying for which got me down, well down actually, and so had a little crisis of confidence and didn't do much/ anything. I conquered my fear of the blank canvas today! I started the portrait of the girlfriend that I preped for about 2 weeks ago. Before I started I had another look at the sketches I'd done, and made an executive decision to very loosely follow it. I did some work today (hooray!!). I haven't been lazy, just jet lagged. I'm not the best sleeper at the best of times and for some reason travelling from USA to UK always screws with my sleep pattern for at least 3 days.

I'm feeling really jet-lagged so haven't done any work over the last couple of days, the lack of sleep on the plane meant I spent most of today staring blankly at the TV trying to stay awake. In a bid to stay awake I went and bought myself a canvass, which I plan to start tomorrow. While I was in Stafford I visited the Shire Hall Gallery. They ( Read more... )
