I knew I was not completely happy last semester, but I didn't realize how easy a problem it was to solve. I like to keep myself busy (clearly... I am going to be a Rabbi...), and I am happy being busy. Last semester I tried to spend as much time as possible with Josh, staying on top of things at school, and working at my internship at UJC. I'm FINALLY on vacation. Papers done, tests taken. For a while in there I was doing little else other than working, and sleeping. I was so thankful to receive an extension on one of my papers.. and alas I am done ( Read more... )

My father had surgery on his finger yesterday. Apparently his version of a mid-life crisis is that when he feels pain he doesn't deal with it for a while and so it lingers and gets worse. He should have had a knee replacement a while ago, but he was "too young" so he opted to wait. This of course meant that his entire time visiting me in Israel he ( Read more... )

Josh and I just returned from our honeymoon (evidenced by the fact that it is currently 5:15am and I can't sleep another minute-- the joys of jetlag) and despite all of the craziness in planning, family drama, someone crashing the wedding, and a juggling of all the little details, I have to say that the wedding was better than I ever could have ( Read more... )

So it turns out eloping would have been a much better idea. Between family madness, people being invited (that I really don't like) behind my back, and the long list of to dos-- that alone would have made eloping worth our while. Then the clincher. This year has been quite the adventure. On the very day I arrived one soldier was kidnapped. The war with Lebanon began, and went on all throughout my summer. Israel isn't such a bad place to live. Funny hebrew grafiti. Nice little coffee shops. Jews from all over the world together in one place. The old city-- a religious haven. The peacefulness of Shabbat. And the falafel... yum.

But then there has to be stuff like this to muck it all up.

I got a wedding dress today. It's prrrty :)

In just 7 days I will be back in the wonderful US of A, with family and friends, planning my wedding, enjoying my sushi (yes, you read right.
