June was pleasant enough. I rained a bit a couple of times. On the 16th Josh and I got in our traditional Father's Day surf and Oyster Festival Saturday craziness. We bring the Oyster Fest. This year maybe as many as 25,000 tasty mollusks. Then we wash off the shell dust in the Mighty Pacific.

This last week has been two weeks long. Not only wasn't it a holiday week but in fact it was double the fun and strife of any normal week. When I got home Tuesday night sarahshevett was laid out and looking feverishly sick. She is tough and I have never heard her say "you need to take me to the doctor". I guess it might have rained earlier this week. I cannot remember because the beautiful sun we had today etched it from my mind. Today was certainly as nice a day as any ever. Alaska this week. They are shoveling the snow off the roof of the fish house. The load crushed some buildings. I don't know about using the snow blower on the roof?

I was up and out the door in the dark this morning and at the beach as the sun came up. It was a nice frosty morning with thick patchy fog and mist that hung here and there. I was glad to find the beach fog free. The surf was smaller but fun as anything with five other surfers out all regulars. I got a few waves. I got to work pretty late. Nobody ( Read more... )

One of the best gifts this year was the discovery today of Josh's long lost baby book. Sarah found it in the attic. There are quite of few photos in there of which there is only one copy like this b&w polaroid taken back when we used babies as helmets.
