Well, I guess you can say that I'm back. Back to work tomorrow. I have so much mail, I just want to throw it out of the window. I started Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday on the plane -- strangely, yesterday was the most stressful traveling day ever -- delayed takeoffs, prolonged landings, the huge Miami airport, lost luggage, ( Read more... )

Gracias chica....yes, I do love the orange line, its like freedom, except it smells like urine and has scratched up windows. Yeah, I'm chapin (guatemalteco), and black, the ill mix, ha (but for some strange reason, I don't like calling myself "half" anything, kinda sounds like I'm "half" of a person, and us mixed race peoples got enough problemas, lol).

And nah, I don't mind being your amigo.

PS-Ha! I love your user info. Spanglish really should be identified as another language.

Maybe you just THINK you love the orange line because you don't really remember what its like....haha I'm just fooling with ya. I know it wicked stinks to be back home after a trip like that...it's hard to face that you're back in crappy crappy Melrose again. But we definitely should chill sometime soon before vacation is over. Nick wants to plan a pai thai party and he was waiting till you got home to do it. This comment is wicked wicked long and I still have a lot to say but I guess I'll just talk to you later. Did you phone contract run out?

PS
You won't believe what happens in Half-Blood Prince!!

The hate will pass, and then you will miss it. joannabella August 1 2005, 00:32:12 UTC
Whenever I come home from a trip abroad my eyes see yet again so many of the faults this country has, and I hate it. I went to the DR for only two weeks last year and it took me a month to recuperate after I got back. Now that I am over my disgust for this country I feel a little sick because I obviously accept whatever made me ill when I first returned.

But you did get to visit Guatemala and that is wonderful.

I know what you mean. This has been my fourth time back -- living in poverty, witnessing oppression and racism. But somehow I manage to find the beauty of cultures, of how some people can not afford shoes or enough food but can live happily and thankfully -- something you can not find in the States.

I get that sick feeling too, because I know of how much I have, and how little my mother's family in Guatemala has. I guess for revolutionaries' "hate" never passes.

BTW--Whats up, I added you back, and think that being a professional walker/lover is mad dope. I'm guessing that you and chocolatina are friends...? And you're quisqueyana?

Thank you. The funny thing is that I wrote that bio 4 years ago kind of jokingly, and now it's coming true in a way.

I found chocolatina on lj recently. I like women who can make me laugh.

Y obvio que no soy quisqueyana, porque no se que significa. Ensen~ame.

mis amigos....como estan.

yes joannabella and I just met. cool chick we have alot in common.

about being disconnected when you come back from abroad....I can totally relate.

a few days ago I was a bit cynical about things, and just wanted to go back to DR where things, for me at least...are alot more simple...

people enjoy the mere fact of being with family, friends...eating empanadas on the porch, drinking tamarindo juice...and talking about nothing at all, but just enjoying the afternoon. *sigh* quisqueya I miss you.

BTW. zambo tu eres un bebe. OMG. y con ese talento tuyo para escribir...mijo tienes un hermano?? hahahaha
