Maryland - totally with you there. Snow - I'll be walking distance to metro. Which means I get less snow days, meh. But it does mean I'm more mobile. Maryland girl - =P.
can i bum in on some of that coffee drinking/ice cream eating action?
i kind of feel like just about everything in the d.c. area is getting gentrified, with a few exceptions like anacostia. do you have any other recommendations on areas to look for potential roomies?
expensive in terms of... food? rent? restaraunts? other things?
found a room, still somewhat waffling, but i think it'll work out. the plus side is it's walking distance from the metro, so i won't have to actually deal with the traffic bit. (unless you know things i don't - i'm a total maryland novice, really)
i know! i mapquested a bunch of things out, and it turns out that it's actually faster for me (driving time wise) to see most of my friends than living in dc proper. which is just weird. also, my commute would only be about 10 minutes longer than any of the affordable places in dc (and shorter than it is currently). it's kindof nuts.
i think a lot of us have blocks on crossing the state line, though. i am still all like OH, i can't, it's in MARYLAND.

Other than that, I can't think of why not to move out there. Did you find a place?
