So this past Saturday I left for Salt Lake City, Utah. The flight took a bit longer than expected being 1 hour and 45 minutes and then 5 hours, after a pit stop in Baltimore (what an exciting airport...yeah). Salt Lake was very beautiful. I was invited today to go to a lecture given by Ali Ponai (sp????) the Afghani professor from Ohio State University who is in town. His lecture was on the similarities of the Afghani and Iraqi wars. It was rivetting. There was a huge attendance, probably 300 people piled into the room. I was thoroughly impressed. The questions at the end of ( Read more... ) -

I have to say that my energy has been zapped by my disapreciation and frustration of my Father's visit. We left each other being on very poor terms. The invitations after class.....
Now I have posted that on Friday the car keys to my rental were yanked out of the ignition in sort of the same way as the Soup Nazi would have said ''no soup for you'' but!, it turned out that the weekend was just absolutely horrible and the weather was cold, rain and generaly disgruntled with humans inhabiting the planet. This week has been a beginning that I am happy for. I was given a research paper on Turkish economy so I have been buried in online research papers trying to synops a third world governments economy to a 6 page brief in English. It was fantastic. Ooo the life.... in Turkey
I haven't updated in what seems months! I am prone to bouts of depression for no apparent reason, whether I am in Cobleskill, home, or anyplace. However, I am very very surprised that I have only had a day or two of melancholy in my entire 6 weeks of my stay here in Turkey. That gives me great strength and resolve.
