Well, shift 3 continued in the same vein... after sorting out the NCDs, I lost the intercom at about 6.30am! Well, 1 down only 6 more to go! Graveyard shifts that is... Yesterday's went ok, despite the extreme lack of sleep. I got up at about 11am on Monday, and then had a 30 minute nap at about 10pm, and then went off to site to do the shift, which involved staying awake all night, in theory until 9am ( Read more... )

Another chance to drive the Moggie this weekend :) I drove to Cambridge early on Saturday for Stephen's graduation ceremony. His parents came too (down from Chester). I just had a phone call from Monica (final yr doctoral student at Penn) and the changes I've been making to the SNO Monte Carlo simulation (SNOMAN) have reduced our radial bias! There was a 0.7% bias in ur simulations of the data, but this has been reduced to 0.1%, and the width is down as well. This was one of our major systematics!

Weekend spent at the Lewes bonfire night celebrations. It's been many years since I've been, and I'd forgotten quite what an extent they go to! Bonfire societies from all round the area, including half a dozen from within Lewes, all put on parades, with fancy dress, torches, and all the trimmings.
