Sherlock: Official Records Deny It

Title: Official Records Deny It
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: Mycroft, Sherlock, John, NotAnthea
Words: ~5900
Notes: It's full of good things, really: fucked up sibling relationship, lifesaving, tacky plot devices... I could warn about how close Mycroft and Sherlock are to being full on incesty (is that a word?), but that seems a bit paranoid. And ( Read more... )

Your formatting makes this very hard to read. Can you fix it?

Also do you have a beta because there is a few mistakes. For example I thought it was just a typo in your title but it appeared in your fic. fife is incorrect, it is five.

Well, it would seem that this poster's first language may not be English. Would you like to volunteer to beta for them?

This was a wonderful fic, and reading through it was very easy for me. It is beautifully done and their English is spectacular, even if it misses in a couple places. I tend to re-read for editing's sake later however.

I don't know if their first language is English or not. I don't beta for anyone at the moment, because my English is horrible (I have finals and I am stuck editing fic that I wrote in 2004). However, if this is there first foray into fandom, they might not know to use a beta.

The formatting is fucked up. No paragraph breaks and one long block of text. It is a simple fix. Asking them to fix it isn't out of line. Just like you would ask someone to LJ cut something.

How about you beta for them?

I did want to also add, I would like to read your fic, but formatting is difficult.

While I would have to agree that the format is a little difficult to read - I have read it and enjoyed it very much. A lovely look at Sherlock and Mycroft's relationship and, even better, John as part of the story. I do so love his observations on NotAnthea.
Thank you :-)

The formatting does look a bit intimidating at first, but once I started reading it wasn't too difficult, seeing how good it is.

I like the flashbacks and little insights into the Sherlock/Mycroft dynamic. A lot of it rings true to me in the relationship I have with my own brother, who is six years younger than me. Also, we're just kinda weird/sad that way. O_o
