Very Busy
So starting three new jobs, I've been very busy. I haven't been doing very much serious reading lately, mostly just fun stuff, like the Sookie Stackhouse series, which I enjoy a whole lot. Finally finished!
So I finally finished the Scarlet Letter. No, it did not take me two months to finish it. I've also been reading some other fun stuff lately. I recently read a book called Drink, Play, F@ck, on a very long road trip. It was hilarious and genuinely entertaining. I enjoyed it very much. The Scarlet Letter
Started reading the Scarlet Letter a few days ago. No, I did not read this one in high school like every other person in America. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm about 50 pages into it and the story hasn't really gotten very far, but I'm very interested to see what happens. So far it feels very ominous ( Read more... ) -
Done with Frankenstein
I finished Frankenstein last night and I have to say that I certainly enjoyed it. Although the beginning was a bit slow, most of the book was very entertaining and there were some really powerful scenes. The whole book was very focused on the issue of justice for all, and really made you think about your actions in response to others. ( Read more... ) -
More Frankenstein
I'm about 80 pages from the end of Frankenstein now, and despite the rocky start I had to this book, I'm really enjoying it now. I think I just needed a character to latch onto. I found that Character when Frankenstein's monster Begins telling the story of his life. It's a really great story, there's growth, drama, mystery, and love; I can't ( Read more... ) -
Frankenstein
Started reading Frankenstein a while ago and it hasn't been going as quickly as I anticipated. It's quite short (Under 300 pages), but for some reason I'm having a tough time getting into it. More Sookie Stackhouse
Started and finished the third Book last week and am half way through the fourth right now. After this one, I'm definitely going to get going on some more off of the list. Right now I'm planning to be starting Frankenstein some time tomorrow. It's relatively short compared with Dracula, probably about half the size, and hopefully it will be just ( Read more... ) -
Dracula The Un-dead
After reading and very much enjoying Dracula, I decided to search out some other Dracula literature and found a couple that I was really excited to read. The latest of those books, Dracula The Un-dead, was definitely disappointingly sub-par. It was very badly edited with numerous typos, which was a huge put off for me right away. Last week was spring break and with not much on my plate for the week I of course did a lot of reading. Since I enjoyed Dracula so much I decided to look into some other authors who have used the classic to create their own stories. I found two right away that looked interesting. Dracula!
So I'm over halfway through reading Dracula. The book is HUGE! Over 500 pages. I can't believe how fast it's going though. The book doesn't start with a whole lot of setup or anything, it sort of jumps right into the story, which is pretty exciting from the first page.
