People seem to be none-to-happy about these stickers placed on school books.I can't say that I disagree with the stickers.  Actually, I think teaching kids a diverse set of sometimes-conflicting theories of the universe and teaching them to be critical and analytical is a good thing.  I think these stickers should appear on everything.  What I ( Read more... )

As I've previously stated, I believe that people are largely defined by the experiences, which also shape and create their perspective on the world and knowledge they hold.  I also believe that a sense of connectedness and commonality comes from sharing a common set of views, knowledge, etc., and the easiest way of establishing that is through ( Read more... )

Photography is our window into the past.  Pictures from the 1800s and the early 1900s are black and white, and typically of  poor quality.  So, the typical reaction to photos depicting century-old scenes with modern day quality is that "they must be of re-enactors".

Which is why these photos are just amazing.
