My course start date is looming (Feb 19th), and I am starting to get my self organised. Today I have applied for a Student Account, and I have asked for my phone to be converted to Pay as you Go (will keep the same number). I would really like to visit all of you in the Bristol area as it has been far too long since I saw you all. I was thinking about coming down mid to late August for a weekend. The Trust has put back the date for telling us who will be made compulsarily redundant. Over 200 people applied for voluntary redundancy and only 5 of them were approved. 675 posts out of around 4,500 need to be cut and admin staff (i.e people like me) are most at risk. Allegedly I should know more about my job longevity on Monday. I am trying hard to keep calm, and it is mostly working. The worst feeling in the world is not knowing. Since my last posting life has got much better. My evil doomed flat of nastiness (the real problem was the incompetent and ill freeholder!) has finally been sold, and the money has gone into my account. Well, I have just heard on the Radio that the Trust I work for is about to shed 720 jobs! Nice to be kept in the loop. Allegedly we should find out tomorrow who it will affect. It is quite a big reduction from 5,000 staff ( Read more... )
