We used to joke about how youre Catholic because your mom doesnt want you to be.. is that really your religious conviction? Your true belief? If not, what is?

Hmmm... I guess I would refer to myself as "quietly Catholic." Not that I'm ashamed of it, I'm just not the type of person you would ever see vehemently trying to convert anyone to my faith; my mother's side of the family does enough of that to make me dislike anything to do with it. I prefer to take more of a combined Fransiscan/Jesuit/Hindu attitude and embrace others' spirituality as another river to the same ocean, you know? I don't, however, believe in moral relativism- actions that show self-serving natures or take advantage of others disgust me like nothing else in existance. I don't know, really. I'd call myself pretty darn Catholic, but in a way that focuses more on being a good person and trying to make others' lives better than anything else. And of course I've picked up a good smattering of influence from other religions as well.

Im.. deist? Theres something out there, but Im not Christian, or Jewish, or anything like that. No religion is me, I am not a part of any religion. But I do agree that theres something bigger than we could really comprehend out there.. Its humbling, more than anything. I mean, god could be the universe itself- thats not what Im concerned about. I feel like we need to look as hard as we can to find our own meaning in life, not just the meaning some church says we have fo follow. You know? I live a spiritual life, I guess, but not a religious one.
