Thanks! :) I'm finally feeling good about my process for writing a good targeted resume and cover letter.
I started looking for a job (in a frustrated-reactionary mode) last September. I stopped for the most part in November, then started again about April/May (I took the winter off to embroider and rest), then started looking again in October when my contract at the film festival started ending. So for a 1 month job hunt, this isn't bad.
My job IS pretty good for now. I know I'll want to work better hours, or get paid more. I think a plan to look for arts-related jobs with better hours and pay is the beginning. Then saving so I can be in a better financial position (less or no debt, more vacations), and maybe either moving or spending a lot of time on the coast is the vague plan :)
A one-month turn-around time, these days, is awesome.
I think this is a challenging time to have a plan, unless each bit of it has a couple of alternatives and a 'what if' section. With that said, the beginning of a plan could be to identify the kind(s) of work you really love to do and see if you can prioritize the list using a two column assessment.
My personal experience with doing that is that sometimes the activities I love have to be done on a volunteer basis, but I still get to do them.
I don't comment much, but I read all your posts and have big warmth for you. I wish you very, very well, with everything.
Yes, I agree, it does seem a ridiculous time in human history to plan. My current 'plan' is to stabilize in this job (I know you understand that challenge) then to start looking for a job more aligned with where I want to be heading.
I wish you well too and share that warmth. I think I have the capacity to become an email pen-pal again, does that fit with your life at this point? I miss you a fair bit.
Thanks sweetie. Based on what I see of your life, I think you actually do a lot better with all the changes than you give yourself credit for - you keep getting the rug yanked out from under you, but you keep on dancing! :)
Xo! Thanks, I can already feel the breathing room!
I hope with my schedule we can manage a visit sometime in the next year or so. I'd love to see you again and meet D and hug the kidlet!

That is really awesome! That's better than most. Well done. Well targeted.
And how long have you been handing out resumes? Just asking. Just because it seems to be hard to get a job these days.
The job you landed seems pretty good for now.
I'd like to be in on your planning process, as a fan club member. I mean, you probably want something for yourself in the future. Most of us do.

I could see if we can fit that in - I'll probably need to leave for work at 2PM at the ABSOLUTE latest. Or maybe Sunday morning?
