Instead, Sterling sat down across from him and cleared his throat. "Well then. I have your testimony, and I have all the hard evidence you 'happened' to have on you - well done ripping it from your boy Alec's computer, by the way - and there's really no reason to hold you." He paused for a moment before adding, "That is, if you're willing to do one small favour for me."

Nathaniel bit back an annoyed huff. "What do you want, Crowley?"

"Tut tut tut. Sterling."

"What. Do. You. Want. Crowley."

For a second that man seated across from him maintained a neutral expression before an amused grin crossed his face. "How long have you known I was in here, Nathaniel?" the demon asked almost cheerfully.

"Well, I thought it was kinda obvious," the angel replied. "You hopped on board the Sterling Express right around the time Nate Ford gave up on wanting to live."

"You always were my favourite of the host," Crowley remarked, settling back a bit now that he wasn't trying to 'be' Jim Sterling.

Nathaniel remained as he was, leaning on the table. "Get to the point and tell me what the job is. I mean, you are trying to hire my team to find something for you, right?"

"Not find. Merely retrieve," the demon corrected. "I know where it is. I just can't get to it." He waited for Nathaniel to speak, but the angel remained silent. "I need you to retrieve a weapon capable of killing nearly every supernatural being that walks the world."

"Why would a demon like yourself be interested in the Colt?" Nathaniel asked, equal parts shocked and suspicious. All of the heavenly host knew about Samuel Colt's very special gun, but he had been busy the past several years watching Nate Ford's life then stepping into it during the human's time of distress. He'd long ago lost track of where the weapon might be, and the fact that Crowley knew that information was a bit disturbing.

Crowley frowned at him. "You may have noticed there's a bit of an Apocalypse going on."

"It hasn't affected my team, so, no, I must have missed it," Nathaniel snipped back. "Of course I noticed. And I'd like to continue keeping my people out of the line of fire."

"I'm afraid that's going to be rather difficult. Lucifer's already released one of the Horsemen and will probably go for the rest soon." Crowley actually sounded worried. "He'll probably release Death next."

Nathaniel didn't bother asking how his brother had received a Get Out of Hell Free card; it was obvious that the seals had all been broken and there was little else to do but--wait a damned minute.

The angel stared at his demonic 'friend' in shock. "You plan on using the Colt to kill Lucifer."
"Not me personally," Crowley hedged. "I'm going to give it to a couple of idiot Hunters who are in this neck-deep and have them do the deed."

"Crowley, there are a lot of idiot Hunters who work in pairs."

"These particular idiots are brothers." When Nathaniel started to speak again, intending to point out that that didn't really narrow things down much, Crowley added, "I'm giving it to the Winchesters, alright? Christ, you angels are nosy bastards."

"I take that as a compliment," the angel replied. "Do I even want to know how those boys got pulled into this?"

"Probably not, but Sam and Dean are Lucifer and Michael's true vessels."

"...yeah, I really didn't want to know," Nathaniel muttered. Louder he added, "So why didn't you just go straight to my team instead of coming to me?"

The demon actually scowled. "I didn't feel like getting beaten up by your pet Nephilim again."

"That's just Eliot's way of saying hello."

"You'll have to excuse my rudeness then. I'm rather fond of this vessel," Crowley said. "Do we have a deal?"

The angel's eyes narrowed. "I'm not sure I want to get my people mixed up in this," he said slowly."

Crowley's expression remained evenly neutral. "I understand," he said smoothly. "You're the mythical guardian angel, and you want to keep your chosen humans safe. Which is why you're here instead of them. I mean, ten to twenty years is nothing to an angel. To your vessel, on the other hand..."

The demon trailed off, a wry smile on his lips at the angel's angry glare. "So... do we have a deal?"
