Got some good news today. I have been offered some work as a research assistant for a couple of days. Got the call out of the blue. Working with someone I have worked with before and someone who knows about recent events - it was very kind of her to think of me. Its been a hot day. Found it hard to do much. Luckily there have been some interesting programmes on the History Channel. Today I saw an interesting BBC documentary 'Nikita Khrushchev, the Peasant Premier', about the Soviet leader from 1953 to 1964. They called him a man of contradictions. Last night when I went over to aquitaine's place for tea. Cashew nuts in a stirfry always makes it very yummy. She then showed me her photos from her time living in Melborne which was interesting, including Confest, lots of visits to goth clubs and lots of different haircuts and hair colours :) We then tallked shit and mucked about on badly tuned guitars ( Read more... )

Over the past couple of days I have been playing around with design ideas for my website. As I know have the GIMP working on my computer I can now start resizing some of my photos to put up on the web. Thanks to barty for suggesting using GIMP, his warnings about the stability of the windows version are well founded, but I have made it work ok so far ( Read more... )

Last night went over to C and V's place for vids evening. Saw 'Three Kings', Hitchcock's 'Marnie' and 'X-Men2'. Hitchcock film was longer than we expected, so we finished the last movie after 3am. Oh. Slept on floor. Had fun away ( Read more... )
