Wu Tang Clan has a lot of hidden messages in their lyrics. To decode some of it, you take the first letter of each word in a line (I know that there is a word for it, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is). The Wu Tang Clan kung fu collection rocks like no other. I just got 18 Deadly Strikes, Vol #1 of the Wu Tang collection, and it's probably the best kung fu flick I've evAr seen. The dubbing is so horrible and half the voices have thick cockney british accents but the kung fu is solid. It's worth it for the sound effects alone.

The kung fu samples were what first got me interested in Wu Tang, and back into rap music. I was into De la Soul and Tribe Called Quest when the watered down ganstafication hit the radio, led by Snoop and Dre. It was a poor man's NWA, and the more talented MCs, MC Ren and Eazy E were nowhere to be seen. I had lost faith in rap and was listening to Primus twelve hours a day with a little Clutch and Manson when GZA split my head in two with Liquid Swords.
