errant curl
winding gracefully,
the ebon silk luring,
lulling against human skin
"touch me, touch me,
beautiful."

beast in the brain
aching to tear through,
a trapped respite,
where is the oasis?
where is the succor in the
amber sap bubbling to the
surface
there is tiredness in
the toughened bark
that sags when it
is pulled too hard
for too long,
but it does not die
we do not die like that.

exuberant eyelash
the rest do not follow
the trend is nonchalance
and i am sleeping volcano
do not wake me with a kiss
i have no time for prince charming
he is dead to me
and i am barely alive,
barely creeping
vine trying to
entice a reticent sky.

a movement almost done;
it hovers, a hummingbird
dripping with nectar--
how the senses fill and
overfill and overflow;
i am yet undone,
my inner breath waiting,
waiting with exquisite agony--
come and find what is lost
when we close our eyes
and forget to breathe from inside
out
an upturned rapture.

dip your feet in whole,
no half-truths in this
moment, in this hole
between worlds between
holes between
hearts and sex and
luscious things.
