So...Newsies is now a stage show, and it's premiering at the theater closest to my house. Jennie and I just consulted the family calendar and have decided that we're going on Saturday October 1st at 7pm (probably my parents will come too). 1. Went to an absolutely awesome wedding over the weekend. Seriously, best wedding ever. It was a weekend in the Poconos. Michelle and I paddleboated across a lake, hung out at the pool, and went to a bonfire. I made candles. I've never been to a real wedding before. When I was 16ish, I attended the church ceremony (not the reception) for my girl scout leader's daughter. When I was 14ish, I watched my mother's cousin get married (second marriage) in an extremely tiny ceremony at a restaurant. My diploma came in the mail last week. It is beautiful and shiny and I'm really excited about it. And, apparently, so is my (maternal) grandmother, because she's decided to give me an e-reader for graduation. A few days ago, a woman in my program died. She was only 30. Liz was in my Materials for Children class this semester, and in several of my other classes previously. She wasn't in class the past two weeks, and I knew she was in the hospital through facebook, but I didn't realize how bad things were. And now she's dead. Poof ( Read more... )

I did choir for four years in high school (two choirs my senior year), and I really enjoyed it, but I have no illusions about my voice. It's passable, with an ever-shrinking range, so it's enough to sing casually without embarrassing myself, but that's it.
