Oh hey, guys, I'm abandoning
nuitdenovembre, for now at least. There isn't any actual, logical reason - it just feels redundant and unnecessary, and I rarely ever log in there. Whatever fic there'll be in the future will be posted here again, etc.
Anyway. ToNC, coming your way.
The Theory Of Narrative Causality
sherlock/john.
nc-17. porn. no specific warnings.
sherlock belongs to the beeb, moffat, and gatiss; originally acd's; I make no money and mean no copyright infringement.
written for
this prompt: Sherlock and John are BNFs in Sherlock Holmes fandom. Together, they fight crime. (Always.) And write porn, incidentally.
notes: a while back, in November I think, there was a request on a Make Me A Monday post asking for Sherlock versus THE INTERNET, for which I’d scribbled a few hundred words before getting (as ever) distracted by another shiny plot idea. Most of these few hundred words didn’t make it into this (except the Derringer Sky excerpt, I believe), but the general idea of using actual LJ posts and gmail chats remained, and, eventually, this story shaped itself around it.
I’ve meant to deanon on this for a while now, as the original post in
sherlockbbc_fic has gotten very much confused. This is a cleaned-up, coded version, slightly altered in pieces, restructured in seven parts instead of five, and hopefully a hell of a lot more readable.
I owe a thousand thanks to the gorgeous people who welcomed this story over on the meme, and encouraged its writing with such enthusiasm and kindness. By the time it was over, this story had become a collective effort, which is... well, mind-boggling, really. It’s been an amazing experience, posting this every few days and receiving such wonderful feedback. Thank you all.
due thanks where thanks are due: to
misha0529, above and beyond, for this fantastic job of formatting and coding what was previously a terrible mess of fake hyperlinks and html confusion into actual LJ entries, TV tropes articles, and gmail chats. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of time you must have spent on this. (I still think you’re magic.) Thank you so very, very much.
to
dinadandelion, the original OP of the prompt; obviously, this story wouldn't have been written without you. It was a fantastic prompt, and it dropped on me like an anvil. Just, wow. Thank you so, so much for your feedback along the way.
to
ningen_demonai, for the beta!job and the encouragement. I love you, m’lass.
to the
holmeschat crowd, who know who they are, for taking this silly story and making it real, and ongoing, and putting as much time and effort into it as they do.
to all the people who contributed to this ‘verse in every way they could - with icons and stories and art and podfics, as listed
here - I seriously, seriously love you. All of you. Thank you.

final note: because of lj’s recent wonkiness, it is quite possible that some of the coding may have gone wrong somewhere, or simply that typos/spelling mistakes/grammar errors may have escaped notice during the editing of this. I’m going to be offline for the next three weeks or so (vacation, yo), but should you notice anything, please let me know, and I’ll put it right as soon as I come home.
