I pause as I ponder the rubble
And aliens outside our bubble
We conquered the devils
And had our brief revels
But was it still worth all the trouble?

Get the robots from the shed
They will make the Martians dead!

The robots are killing the vampires
With stakes made of oak wood and ire
The Martians engaging the werewolves
Is a sight that will truly inspire

I'm a bit behind with my Invasion project...

The robots came down from the future
While dinos came up from the past
The time rift's in need of a suture
The invaders a much needed blast

Terror from out of the heavens
The Overlords feasting their eyes
They only count minions in sevens
And believe every word of their lies

The oceans are frozen and crusty
Our weapons are useless and rusty
The war has been lost
Earth covered in frost
Except for the deserts, they're dusty

The Yetis are manning the cannons
The Bigfoots are forming in ranks
The Nessies have all but abandoned
Their lochs for the turrets of tanks

The Merfolk have learned to grow feet
And mingle with people they meet
We won't know they've won
Till their fins come back on
And their armies have wrought our defeat

I've been bad at reporting invasions
In hiding one loses all time
I'm weak and have many abrasions
But continue my mission to rhyme

The Trojans are rising to conquer
They found how to travel through time
I know that I'm quite a plonker
But the wooden horse trick
That they fell for so quick
Will again make our victory sublime
