The Perk, Thursday Afternoon

Genesis was in a good mood.

He was stretched out in one of the comfier seats that the Perk had to offer, a coffee by his side and Loveless in his lap. Rather than reading, he was idly reviewing his notes for the various projects he’d chosen to involve himself in

Angeal had been working, you know, Genesis. Hard at work. Puppysitting.

Which made for interesting timing for that particular text message, yes.

Now, I know that isn't Loveless.

He had a few minutes while his student proved that he was learning nothing at all. He could most certainly spare a moment to reply to Genesis' text.

"The puppy," Genesis confirmed, "wearing black."

Well. That certainly earned a moment's pause. Which made room for the very poignant owwww that earned another sigh from Angeal.

"You aren't suggesting that I should be dumping him off with the Turks, are you?"

He wouldn't. But he had moments where the temptation was certainly there.

"Wrong black," Genesis laughed, "unless you truly wish your puppy to the grave."

Well. That was certainly a bit of... interesting news.

"How?"

Angeal could be blunt, too.

"The usual way, I imagine," Genesis mused unhelpfully. "He's not bad."

...It was surely no surprise that Genesis had fought him, right?

Honestly, no. No surprise at all.

"Managed to hold his own, did he?"

"Well enough," Genesis said idly. "It was some of the best fun I've had yet, here."

Angeal had to pause. Again. Look thoughtfully at the puppy. Again.

"You're sure it's the same one?"

[apples_n_poetry]

"Would I tell you it was him without being sure?"

Really, he was hurt...

Fair enough...

"It sounds like he's actually got you somewhat impressed. I must have done something right, then."

"Consider my news a gift to you," he said airily. "As, clearly, he's not doing so well yet."

And there was that pesky matter of the sword, but bringing it up right this instant would be less than subtle.

"No, he's got a long way to go to 1st," Angeal agreed, mercifully ignorant of the weapon of choice of Fandom Island's Zack. "He's still new, yet. He'll learn."

Maybe that enthusiasm of his could be put to decent use. One could certainly hope.

"But so much he's got to learn," Genesis needled. "Truly, not even understanding elemental weaknesses?"

That was just sad.

"That just shows how much effort I'm willing to put forward when I spot potential," Angeal replied, bemused. "Zack knows what he wants, but his focus is... lacking."

Just like a little puppy.

"Does he pee on the carpet when he gets excited, too?"
