Miles knew that what he did was wrong, but he loved Alicia so much he couldn’t bear the thought of being apart from her. He couldn’t bear the thought of her falling in love with another guy, especially when he considered himself the best match for her. He firmly believed that no one could make her as happy as he can, regardless of his indiscretion. He considered his indiscretion a human mistake and he didn’t believe it demonstrated that he didn’t love her.
The minute he cast the spell her eyes opened and she stood up, awaiting his command. Miles smiled and said, “I’m moving back in tonight. Now get some rest.”
Alicia nodded then lay back down. She fell asleep without much difficulty while Miles went to Terence’s home to retrieve his bags. Terence tried to question him about this sudden turn of events but Miles didn’t let him talk. He was out the door before his friend caught onto him.
The next few days were strange. Alicia wasn’t acting like herself or at least it didn’t feel that way to Miles. Their relationship just wasn’t the same now that he was controlling her every move. He tried to send her out to meet up with friends and even though he justified his actions by telling himself they were a necessary evil, it felt wrong. Before the week was over he removed the spell.
“What’s going on? What are you doing here?” Alicia asked hastily once she realized Miles had moved back in and things had been moved around in the apartment indicating she had missed some things.
“You decided to forgive me.”
“I would not. You did something to me. Leave me alone and go away,” she hissed then ran towards their bedroom where she proceeded to lock herself in.
Miles’ vision of the perfect relationship was slowly slipping away and in its place was disappointment and regret. He knew what he needed to do and it would be unpleasant for everyone involved.
