Stella, the lovely Bernise Mountain dog I hang with now and again, highly recommended me to Max the Cat. So this week I'm kitty sitting in a very lovely home while his parents kick up their heels in Puerto Rico.
Max is a bit shy and very good at hiding. But I managed to get a couple of pics here. :)

baby blanket
I cast this off earlier today. I've had it almost complete for a while but just put it away and never looked at it again. I only had to do the repeat one more time, the border and cast it off so here it is. I still need to bury the ends in and wash it. Possibly some light blocking. Mattresses
Henrycat will tell you I've needed a new mattress for years. But I'd been unwilling to get one for a few reasons. And really, what I really wanted was very expensive so I felt I needed to wait. But lately I've been waking up in a lot more pain than is easily bearable. (putting weight back on has made that clear) And I'm sleeping lousy. I wake up hurting ( Read more... ) -
Loss of a beloved pet
We lost our sweet Qui-gon today. He was always my fat orange cat (for which I have the LJ name.) We had him for 16 years. Originally he was a stray that was homeless and hungry and living on handouts between a laundromat and a gas station during one of our worst winters here at the time. WinCon has a much earlier submission date for their vidshow this year and I almost didn't see it! Yikes! I've had a Five-0 vid in it for the last 4 years I think and had intended to this year- espeically since I'll actually be able to attend this one! Warm weather at last
It seems spring really has gotten here with summer fast on it's heels. It's hard to believe that three weeks ago we had snow. Thank god that seems to be a distant memory now. Although I think I'm still suffering PTSD from the winter that we thought would never leave here ( Read more... )
