I won Districts for the 4th year in a row yesterday. My legacy is complete. We had a good judge who actually knew her shit, and she talked with me for another 10 minutes after I played about what colleges and stuff I was looking into/auditioning for. So now I'm going to State, (along with a 2 or 3 other violinists, because we have so fucking many, ( Read more... )

Liam, I think I have the piece for state for you:

Bouree from Suite No. 3, by JS Bach

Liam, Bach did not compose any suites for the violin. The cello, yes. Very nice Suites indeed. You might be thinking of either a Sonata or a Partita. Of which Bach wrote 3 of each containing a few movements. There does exist a Bouree in the 3rd Partita in E Major, but once again, there are no suites for violin.

Shit what was I thinking. You're right, I DO play the cello. Wow, boy, I sure must have fallen off of the Stupid Tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Hey Liam, about last night...Do you have the bag or do I? I can't have the stuff ready for Monday if I don't have the stuff. You get my drift. And my mom bakes the best apple pies!

"A Modest Proposal" is the best god damn essay I have ever read. Troche didn't let us read the cool stuff in our class :(

as in the baby eating stuff?

I'm not sure, but I think the version she gave us might be edited. I read it last year, the whole thing, and I'm fairly certain the packet she gave us was different.

I really should read it, considering I'm facilitating and all.

How fun it must be to do things in English class. Last class we took a vocab test, and then we had silent reading for forty minutes, and then we spent the rest of the class writing on the topic "What is Life?" Just doing a freewrite...it's not going to be graded or anything. Cool, good thing I figured out the meaning of life in the last half hour of English, thanks Fulton.

I have advised all of my junior friends to take Humanities or regular english and get Troche. Not fulton. I dont know how many can be saved, but I've tried my hardest to dissuade them from the myth that Humanities is the hardest thing since Darius Miles erect.

Instead of freewriting, we discuss. And swear profusely and make lots of accidental innuendo.

I think you have to have accompaniment to qualify to place at state... I'm pretty sure accompaniment is a requirement.
