I don't think telling you how well this is written is really the best praise. Although I never went through anything like this, I know people who would react like Figgins and everyone else around, when Quinn said she didn't want to go with her father. Thanks for writing that scene in.

I really hope the R/Q fluff is just as good. I'm guessing as good as your writing is, it will be.

Hi! I'm totally good with impatient, lol. I'm glad you nudged, and I appreciate that you're still interested!

I've actually been writing on the last section every night this week - I had intended to have it up two weeks ago, but this chapter is talky and stubborn and I'm having to rewrite and rewrite to be happy with it. I think last night I finally got it back on track, so I hope to have it up by the weekend. Please do keep nudging me about it - it helps me stay motivated!

This was... stunning.

Hurt/comfort is my absolute favourite type of story, and you write it so well... really glad Quinn's father got her back so she could finish that arc, and Santana and Brittany's parts were just great too.

I can't wait for the next part, it's just... ...

It feels like I'm lost for words, but I'm obviously not, so this is like, someone who rambles all the time being lost for the right words.

Oh, thank you. I probably have an unnatural preoccupation with Hurt/Comfort stories, in all genres (fic, film, lit). I've totally made my peace with it, lol, but there's definitely something emotional tied up in that formula for me. I used to think Hurt/Comfort was a good vehicle for character development, like shaping people, and while I'm better at seeing what it does and doesn't do to characters now, it sure is awesome to watch/read :D

I'm going to try to express what I felt during this chapter. Though words have rarely ever failed me before, some things cannot be expressed properly in an LJ comment. As I was reading the abuse scene, I was filled with uncontrollable rage. I have read child abuse stories, I have scene them on television, but never have I felt this. I guess it's my love for the characters and your wonderful writing but as Russell Fabray was laying into Quinn I was going over in my mind how I wanted someone to turn that belt on him. My jaw was clenched and I was most assuredly reduced to tears. I only drew the line at actually yelling at my computer screen. That was intense and heartbreaking and I really just want him to go to jail and get a taste of the hell he has put his daughter through.

Three cheers for healing and the long road ahead full of people who love and care for Quinn.

I know this was a really intense read - it was really intense to write. I think I might have said something up thread, but I really went back and forth about how much to let Quinn actually be hurt, and how explicit to be in the writing. I definitely think for this fic it was important to take her into that space and let her come out of it in a different way, to experience that evolution in her thinking about herself moving forward. I can appreciate that it was provocative to read, and I'm flattered that you have shared with me how real it felt to you. Thank you for taking the time to tell me.

As for the road ahead, definitely healing, definitely love. More to come soon!
