Melbourne Time, Part 4 (Or, why there needs to be more hours in the day)

Mar 30, 2011 17:40

Hello, everyone! We held off on sharing the revised app (don't worry, it's basically just a C&P job to move your existing app over) because we had something special to finalise and make presentable:

Class Skills! )

Consider it a post-credits sequence. Those are popular these days.

So all we need now are a post-game final boss? What would THAT be?

Could we maybe have some example stats for each class? It's sort of bewildering to guess at stat numbers when you're trying to not become Haggar the White Mage accidentally by giving yourself higher strength than the existing white mage base.

.... Not that this wouldn't be awesome, but it could provide a base to reference or deviate from.

Weeeeellllll...we do have some rather old sketches of build types. Take these as a very rough guideline, and I make no guarantee that they will make usable or approvable characters, etc, etc.

Build STR MAG AGI INT SPD WTS VIT WLL CST
M Tank 90 125 65 125 115 115 115 250 1000
P Tank 125 90 125 65 115 115 250 115 1000
M Dam 115 250 65 125 115 115 90 125 1000
P Dam 250 115 125 65 115 115 125 90 1000
M Agi 115 125 65 125 90 250 115 115 1000
P Agi 125 115 125 65 250 90 115 115 1000
M Bal 105 145 105 145 105 145 105 145 1000
P Bal 145 105 145 105 145 105 145 105 1000
Balance 145 145 125 125 105 105 125 125 1000

Uhhh, you list the physical DPS guy as having 250 Strength. Typo?

These are extremely, extremely minmaxed archetypes. They might not be as helpful as you might expect.

Question re: attack levels. What's the 'break even' point for use of Limit? (ie what's the point where you stop gaining and start losing?)

At level 5 you neither gain nor lose Limit...from an ordinary free attack. Effects and modifiers will increase the cost.

Another question - is this correct?

Rune Knight
Empower - 0 Magical Arcane Faith,Self

It just seems.... odd that the Rune Knight gets a self-only buff ability which boosts magic damage - when the class has nothing that DOES magic damage. Given the class's list, that's almost the least possibly useful positive status to have.

My guess is for cases like Celes (she's the first example that comes to mind). Since you get seven personalized abilities, I imagine Celes is a Rune Knight plus a few ice and holy spells plus Runic. Things like that.

Looking at that list now the dust has settled, probably several of those Rune Knight skills should be Junction, like the Mystic Knight's.

But, well, this is what testing and revisions are for. Changes to class skills are inevitable (that disclaimer's there for a reason besides making a TF2 reference).

Edit: And changed! Although we could just say 'app some spells in your personal list' I agree that the class skills should synergise in some way. Thank you for pointing that out.
