Twisting Paths of the Dungeon, Somewhere, Wednesday, Day One

Apr 10, 2013 07:42

The pathways of the dungeon had changed overnight. Anyone who had stayed in a room beyond their welcome had found themselves booted out back onto the hallways that belonged to their camp. Those doors had closed. Other doors had now opened.

As had other routes.

Opening this door feels less like opening a door and more like trying to open a suitcase.

Step into the room, and there are even more suitcases. And bags. Actually, the room looks like a well-stuffed storage compartment, with only a little wiggle room. Upon closer inspection, all the items here seem to come with labels. Familiar labels. Labels that might speak to you inside...

If you dare, you can try to open one of the bags. They might contain clothing or smaller items like matches and hairpins. Or they might move and slide off, landing on your head and putting you out of commission for good...

[ emotional baggage room! we're, uh. willing to NPC your emotional baggage if you really want us to. ]

Cade, after spending yesterday prowling the camp area and realizing that it was karking boring in there, decided to go exploring.

He was getting twitchy, too: blame the lack of deathsticks with him. He opened the first door he came across and stepped inside...only to fling himself flat on the floor as he barely escaped getting crushed by a giant metal suitcase labeled DADDY ISSUES.

"Real karking funny," he told the ceiling.

[OOC: For camps 1 or 2!]

When Gert's two matching regulation-carry-on-size suitcases fell from the ceiling reading "DADDY ISSUES" on one and "MOMMY ISSUES" on the other, then teetered over in her direction, she shot Cade a meaningful glance. "You starting to think we might have been better off in the dungeon?"

"Yes," Cade agreed, vehemently, dodging around MY FAMILY SUCKS and SO MUCH DISAPPOINMENT and kicked over a small duffle labeled ADDICT before Gert could read it.

He hoped.

Addict, huh?

Well, it seemed rude to look at his baggage for too long; it wasn't like Gert would want to invite him to check out that heavy trunk that just dropped beside her labeled "WEIGHT ISSUES." Charming.

Gert sat on it.

"Think there's any chance we'll be able to get back to the door with all this crap in the way?"

"Maybe if we can push it?" He thought really hard. "And moved fast? I bet that's not the only bags it has in mind for us."

On cue, Cade was beaned by a hatbox that read SKYWALKER.

Wait, Skywalker? "...Like the teacher?"

The gym bag that flopped near Gert's feet reminded her that she "CAN'T RUN (OR FIGHT)," which only pissed her off enough to turn to the ceiling and yell, "Would you knock it off?"

That was likely to be effective.

"Like the teacher," Cade grumbled, rubbing his head only to nearly get run over by a steamer trunk of ABANDONMENT ISSUES.

"Huh." Somehow Gert hadn't known Cade's last name until now.

A pair of his-and-hers TERRIFIED OF AUTHORITY FIGURES bags plopped to the ground on Gert's either side, one of them grazing her arm as she ducked out of the way of the other. "Ow," she grumbled, examining her bleeding arm. It wasn't that bad, but it hurt. "Ready to make a run for it?"

"More than," Cade said, trying to see the door over the pile of luggage. "It's to the right past the weight issues, yeah?"

"I think so." And if not, well, at least they'd be further away from all the bags that had already fallen. Except, well. "...This is probably gonna be more of a climb than a run."

"Don't suppose you're secretly a karking mountain climber," Cade said, climbing up a steady-ish looking trunk labeled FOREVER ALONE.

"More of a mountain climber than an Olympic runner," Gert offered, grabbing hold of two duffel bags and stacking them on top of each other so she could stand on them and be tall enough to clambor onto a giant suitcase reading "VIRGIN."

"What about you?"

"Not a virgin," Cade offered helpfully.

Not the point, Cade.

"You weren't in my room, were you?"

"Thanks for the update," Gert said. "I don't think so. Does your camp have a girl with a baby in it?"

"Noooo," Cade said, climbing over another bag. "We had a lot of naked people. I think I won."
