“I took the day off anyway. I have to run some errands. My vacation starts tomorrow.”
“And you’re spending it with your kid so his mama can slut it up in Hawaii.”
“Yep. And Reid and Morgan are coming back to work tomorrow, so we’ll be with a minimal team for just one day.” Hotch paused. “Are you listening?”
Chad didn’t say anything. He just stared over the other man’s shoulder.
“What are you looking at?” Hotch turned to look at the stream of people walking to the exits. Then he saw them. Morgan and Reid were walking right towards them.
Hotch froze on the spot.
“Hey, over here!” Chad hollered to the duo.
“Chad, what are you doing here?” Reid approached him with a wide smile and Morgan in tow. “Going somewhere?”
“For three weeks. How was your trip?”
“Really good. I won over three thousand in the casino.”
“I thought you said casino’s were off limits.”
“For Morgan.”
“Babe.” Morgan tugged Reid’s shirtsleeve.
“What?”
Morgan pointed to Hotch.
“When did you get there?” Reid wondered.
“I’ve been here all along.” Hotch groaned.
“No you haven’t.”
“I have. I…. I gave Chad a lift.”
“I bet you did.” Morgan interrupted.
“Morgan.” Similar exclamation came simultaneously from Reid and Hotch. Chad and Morgan looked at them and started laughing.
“I’m not sure who’s starting to resemble who here….” Morgan couldn’t stop gigging. “So how was the weekend for you two? But no details.”
Hotch turned to glare at Chad. “You told them!”
“Just Reid.”
“You told them!”
“I didn’t tell him any raunchy details.”
“You told them!”
“Would you stop repeating that?”
“You told them you screwed their boss in the shower.” Hotch`s tone was now pure panic.
“That was more than I wanted to know.” Morgan commented.
“And like I said, I didn’t tell them any juicy details. Like that cuff and whipped cream thing.”
“Just stop talking!”
“They know, so what does it matter?” Chad questioned.
“We work together! Now if I twist my ankle and go to work limping, they’ll think it was some kind of a sex game gone wrong.”
“Hey, I’ve been limping in the office after a sex game gone wrong, and it didn’t bother me.” Morgan grinned smugly.
“That’s different, you’re-” Hotch paused. “Sorry, that was out of line.”
“I’m what?”
“I didn’t say anything.”
“You were going to say something so just say it.”
“I was going to say you’re….. Can we just forget it?”
“No. I’m what?”
“Loose.”
“What the hell does that mean?”
Chad pulled Reid further away from the arguing men.
“Should we do something?” Reid asked.
“Nope. He already forgot he was mad at me.”
“Yeah, and they’ve argued about cases before. That wont last very long.”
“You’re calling me slutty?" Morgan fired back at Hotch. "You’re the one who hooked up with a guy you hardly know and then you spend the weekend on your back.”
“I still got time before my flight. How bout we go get some coffee and a Danish while those two are sorting that.” Chad suggested to Reid.
“Sounds good. Did you know that the act of fighting is in some cases a part of male bonding?”
“No, but I’ve tried some different kind of male bonding.” Chad grinned and lead him to the airport café.
“I’m not talking about this.” Hotch crossed his arms against his chest like a sulking kid. “And I am your boss, so I suggest you tone it down.”
“Not on my day off, and off duty I can kick your ass all the way from here to Alaska.”
“Really? No idea how you got the time, if all the things Garcia’s been telling in the office are true.”
“Don`t you pull my baby girl into this. And I knew Reid for years before we went into bed, I didn’t pick up a guy from a bar like you!”
“I didn’t pick him up!”
“So he picked you up. Maybe he looked at you and thought: Hmmmm… that one looks like the kinda guy who’ll bend over on the first date.”
“That’s it….” Hotch pulled off his coat and started pulling up his sleeves. “You’re going to pay for that….”
“Bring it on, Slut Puppy.” Morgan glanced to the spot where Reid and Chad had been few minutes before. “Wait a minute."
“What?”
“Where did they go?”
Hotch scanned the area. “I think we’ve been dumped.”
Morgan’s cell phone beeped and he pulled it out of his pocket.
“I got a text message from Reid.”
“What does it say?”
“When you two have either settled your differences, or killed each other, you can join us at the café. Coffee and a Danish, but only for good little agents.”
“Okay.” Hotch shrugged. “I can kick your ass later.”
“In your dreams.”
