Lifting Weights

Jan 01, 2009 17:20

Here are some videos from the group workout the "Animal Barbell Club" did on December 27, 2008 at Koloseum Gym in Fullerton, CA -- I'm definitely the "lightweight" when it comes to lifting.

And the purpose of this self-punishment Is?
You are looking good, my friend, but the guy with the 14 round weight thingies on the bar...if I figure right, at 50 lbs each, that is 700?
Suicide by Fitness?
Good videos...

They're actually 45 lbs. (don't ask why -- I don't know), and the bar is 45 lbs., so you're looking at 675. He's just crazy -- he doesn't LOOK that big, but he's awfully bloody strong.

. . . which is where I want to be.

I hit a nice milestone this evening: I was able to pick up a barbell weighing as much as I do (245), and shrug it 20 times.

The purpose? Well, I was tired of looking like a fat, old man -- I can't do anything about the age part, but I can stop the "fat" part. I'd like to drop another 20 lbs over the next couple of months.

700 vs 675-there just isn't that much difference between insanity and crazy....*G*

Just for the record and giggles, I NEVER think of you as a fat old man...could be because I am 6 months older then you. ;-)

Its all about the angle you are viewing from....

45 lbs is about 20 kg in earth gravity.
