Wandered down to Galway for New Year's weekend. Forgot contacts. Naturally, to take full advantage of the New Year's bank holiday, all the shops were closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Am now home. So relieved to be able to focus on something further than 6 inches from my face.

Something that's always been very off-putting to me about the Catholic church is the bigoted attitude it displays towards homosexuals. So I was very surprised by an article in the Irish Times today about the disproportionately high number of young, gay Catholic priests.
