The heat is drowsy and heavy, and paradoxically, it keeps me up. Last night I couldn't get to sleep until I decided to eschew all my much loved blankets and lie on top of a neatly made bed in a sleeveless nighty with the window open. The blood tests came back today. I kept phoning the doctor yesterday and received many a puzzled rant as to why the drivers from the lab hadn't come by to either drop off old reports or collect new samples.
