Friends of ours sent out an email plea to accept a cup of starter for Amish friendship bread. This is a starter that you keep and feed for 10 days, and then divide in to 5 parts: one large one to bake, and 4 small ones to either keep or give away. Last Sunday Mogwai played in San Francisco, and I decided I would try to go. It looked like I might get as many as three people to come with me, but it turned out that none of them could make it. A meat eater ponders animal-borne illness
One of my LJ friends (sirwilliam, in case you're not reading my friends' page) made a post about swine flu, and included a photo of dead pigs being bulldozed into what is presumably a dumpster of some sort. Danse Libre performance
On Sunday April 26 The Academy of Danse Libre will perform dances from the Victorian and Ragtime eras as part of the Adele Saxe Cultural Arts series of the Oshman Family JCC (Palo Alto JCC). The performance will run from 3:30 until 5:00 in the Cubberly Auditorium 4000 Middlefield Rd Palo Alto, and is free.

It so rarely happens that the good guys win. Tonight the good guys won (well, with the exception of one of my candidates for City Council). I am relieved, amazed, hopeful, optimistic ... I'd break out the beer, but I'm exhausted. -

I finished the Too Little Too Late Stefni Agin Memorial Chemo Cap. It looks fabulous.
I also have new yarn. There will be a baby blanket and a sweater vest.
