We're leaving for four and a half days in Connecticut very very early Wednesday morning. Jay's cousin is getting married at a surf club (I assume there'll be a beach ceremony and an indoor reception). I hope to get a chance to eat the mythological pizza called Sally's. Yeah, I'm up way too late*, but why do I think that someone will have sent me an interesting email between 1 and 3 on a weekday morning?

subaru reacquired
Ah, it's nice to have my car back. It cost enough that I'm going to be able buy myself a nice new jacket from REI with the rebate I'll get on my credit card, but I have a (used) new motor, brand new head gasket, and a new radiator that they threw in for "free". Hookah Bar!!
A block from where I work on University Ave, there is a wonderful old building that's housed a flower shop since about 1734 or so. But as business has waxed and waned they either use more space, or lease some of it out to other businesses. Saturday was Perry's birthday, and his party. We had a small gathering, and I felt bad about not planning extravagantly. But our friend B showed up early bearing stick-on moustaches! Synergy Kombucha
A few months ago, I started seeing people (mostly middle aged yoga types, now that I think about it) drinking this bottled tea called Synergy. It was also for sale at one of the on-campus eateries at Stanford, and at the boutique yogurt and oatmeal shop in Palo Alto. Stop snickering. The oatmeal is really good ( Read more... )
