Do you watch a movie that comes out after you've read the book?  Do you read the book after you've seen the movie?  Is the book always better?

I'll watch a film after I read the book, but I rarely read the book after I've watched the film. I have no idea what that means. Maybe it's just that once I've seen the film, I have an idea of what the story is about and what it looks like. Reading the book after that would probably disappoint me.

I have to read it first. If I see the movie first I don't go back to read the book.

I find the book is usually better, lol.

I try not to see the movie after I've already read the book, because books are usually so much more detailed, and it just annoys me when the movie doesn't recapture things exactly as I'd imagined them, in my head. :-)

So do I.

Harry Potter was the exception for me....I watched the movies after I read the books, and the books were way more detailed, but for me i wanted to see the movies, to see how they matched what I imagined.

It depends on a lot of factors, how much I liked the book, etc. Most times the book is better, but occasionally the movie is, though usually the movie is much different than the book.
