“Yixing.”
Yixing yawns, blinking rapidly to keep himself awake as he teeters a little on his feet. He was up late the night before doing his homework, and having PE class first thing in the morning isn’t really helping his exhaustion.
“YIXING.”
There’s a loud thump as something hits him from behind, slamming into his head so hard that his vision blackens for a moment. He trips over his own feet and falls unceremoniously to the ground, hands scraping across the basketball court. A worried Lu Han swims into view, hovering over him.
“Are you okay?” he asks softly and Yixing nods, watching as the basketball rolls away happily, only to be stopped by a foot pressing down on top of it.
“What the hell are you doing?”
Yixing looks up, wincing as pain shoots through his neck. Wu Fan - the leader of the school basketball team also known as an arrogant prick - glares at him.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t see it coming.”
Wu Fan picks up the basketball and holds it loosely under one arm, “Well that’s why you watch the ball when you play basketball.” He snorts and turns away, muttering,
“Thank god you’re not on the actual basketball team.”
Yixing takes Lu Han’s offered hand and pulls himself up, dusting off his pants and casting an annoyed look at the red patches of raw skin on the palm of his hands. Lu Han squeezes his shoulder.
“Don’t listen to Eyebrows, Yixing. He’s just upset because his girlfriend dumped him yesterday.”
Yixing smiles and lets out a small laugh.
“I bet you ten dollars that he gets a new one by tomorrow.”
Lu Han grins. “I say he’ll get one before school is over.”
Yixing offers a hand and Lu Han shakes it.
“Deal.”
