I nearly said so.

The daffodils my roommate left on my desk
in a mason jar she half-filled with water,
a fresh yellow bloom each afternoon for ten days,

I could smell every night before I slept

and although they are now dead, they are still the same yellow,
and they are open.

I got an email from the Coraddi (UNCG literary magazine) editors this afternoon.

"Poem for the New Year" and "Party Poem" (heh) are going to be published in the next issue of Coraddi.

Here are some damn poems.  I'm thinking of submitting them to Coraddi for consideration for the spring issue.

I am not that girl.

Assessment of impressions of classes (man, that's a lot of "ss"):

LAT 102: My professor, Nerdhal, is cute, young, chubby, and highly intelligent.  He gives daily quizzes, which force me to study, and is very good at presenting information.  We immediately began studying fourth and fifth declension nouns on the first day of class.

I am prepared to do quite a lot of drinking in the next few days.

As I will be graduating at the end of the fall 2008 semester, there are several things I need to do to prepare myself to apply for graduate school.  I can't apply for CA because I won't be at school in the spring.  I'm moving off-campus at the end of the semester.  I'm going to take Latin, and perhaps one or two other courses, over the summer ( Read more... )
