I don't read much fiction, let alone juvenile fiction. But a friend of mine suggested I read The Giver by Lois Lowry. She told me she couldn't stop thinking about it after reading it, adding that although it was a children's story its themes were more adult. I was intrigued, so I started it last month and finished it last week.

It's the eighth day of my Mid Atlantic vacation, and so far I've been in four states, with a trip to one more pending (Pennsylvania, which is tomorrow's destination). North Carolina was great. The New York trip is looking a little less likely. My mother said she went to Lotte to buy tickets, and the tour company said they would add our names and let us know if they had enough people to embark on a tour.
