Through the magic of pre-orders and impulse buying, another batch of kung-fu and samurai movies has arrived at Casa Lindave.

How I wanted to live near this guy when I was 10 and reading about his Halloween displays in Famous Monsters of Filmland. Earlier, I had been lucky enough to be a kid in neighborhoods that had community haunted houses and a few homeowners who liked to put up tombstones and cobwebs, but nothing on this scale.

Movies pretty good to excellent. Still encountering many exceptions to the Polite Canadians cliche. Made about 10 new movie nerd pals, remember most of the names. Festival-associated club too loud, crowded, and guarded by bouncers wider than tall, so came home.
