I'm with holding my feelings until it airs cos I have  Buffy hole in my heart and it could be good. But they better make Xander decent to his friends/partners this time around (Willow too). Ugh.

Honestly it seems like all of the characters are going to be pretty radically different for this version. Even Xander who I didn’t get into in my entry lol, those illustrations look way too cool and confident for a character who traditionally dressed in horrible flashy shirts and had no sense of style at all. I get wanting to modernise the characters, but surely part of the point of the Scooby gang is that Willow and Xander were outsiders in high school who dressed in a geeky way, and Buffy was drawn to them as fellow outcasts?

Same with Drusilla really, that character design looking competent and take charge in suits might make for a cool new villain, but yeah idk why even call her Drusilla when that bears no resemblance to the Drusilla from season 2 who was floating around lost in Victorian era clothing?

Willow's design, the clothes especially, look so weird! Agreed with you on the way Buffy is dressed, too. IDK, I'm probably not a good gauge of what they're going for with this target audience, since my teenage years overlapped with Buffy's, but these do look odd to me... (Except Spike. Spike looks perfect, LOL.)

I'm definitely holding my judgment until it airs and I see it for myself.

Oh this isn’t a new tv series, this is the art designs from a reboot they’re doing with the comics with the characters back in high school

I’m not sure what’s happening with the Buffy tv reboot actually, there was all the controversy after it was first announced, and then I haven’t heard anything since, so who knows if it’s still going ahead or not?

hmmm i'm not seeing it. Especially that Willow looks more girly than Buffy - that is fundamentally wrong. Oh, well.

Yeah it’s a little bit weird to see Buffy as more of a tomboy and Willow as the sexy dresser, I understand that it’s pointless to keep everything the exact same, but those are some pretty major changes really. At some point you do have to question what’s the point of keeping the character names if they're going to be *that* different, particularly with Drusilla

I agree about the outfits. The faces are good though.

I definitely think it does a good job of capturing the characters likeness, but yeah it is kinda strange to me for them to be dressed like that in high school. The high school years in the beginning were really the time of Buffy in miniskirts and little boots, and while I understand wanting to update that look, going straight to flannel and jeans is a bit jarring when Buffy was always so much about wanting to emphasis her femininity whenever she wasn’t slaying. Maybe this is nitpicking too much but that really was a huge conflict for Buffy’s character, same as Willow being the frumpy bad dresser with no confidence in herself being behind the foundation of that character as well in the beginning. If she’s now going to be walking around in sexy and cool clothing, well that’s not really Willow as I understand the character anyway
