Justifiably resentful?
Our work Christmas party was this past Friday, but I didn't go. I had a pretty good reason, as on the Wednesday I had been coughing so hard that Thursday I could feel a slight taste of blood in my throat - not that I was coughing any up, but I could taste it. Thoughts on the new Port Mann Bridge
Tomorrow, December 1, the new Port Mann Bridge is set to open as the major crossing over the Fraser River on the Trans-Canada Highway in the Lower Mainland of BC. Since I moved up here in late 2003, and even before that, the existing bridge - which has five lanes; two west, three east - has always been a traffic bottleneck. Eventful couple of weekends

Went down to aeto's place in Seattle. The plan was initially an afternoon of games followed by dinner-with-movies, but neither really turned out that way. Hallowe'en could well be a wash-out this year
Rainfall warning for metro Vancouver throughout the day.
Since midnight last night (just 6h15 ago) we've had 25mm (almost an inch) of rain, and it doesn't look like it'll be stopping anytime soon.

Weekend was fun
With a life that's as boring as mine is mostly, I need the occasional fun weekend.
Went down to Seattle(ish) on Friday, and then went with aeto to his local Hallowe'en haunt, held at the Nile's Shriners golf course. Took the chimera, and had a good time going "rar!" at people. Also ended up feeling old as all of the girls in the "creepy doll house" ( Read more... ) -
Not quite 4 years
October 24, 2008 - I moved into my own place here in Maple Ridge, as a homeowner.
October 21, 2012 - I finally fix the dodgy 'flapper' in the ensuite bathroom toilet that's been a problem since I moved in.

Found out my blood type today
A- !
I've always wanted to know that, but never donated blood so never had the test done. Since I was going to get some tests done today anyway, asked to get it done. Cost $40, but figured what the heck.
It's not that I don't want to donate blood at any time, but more because of stupid medical paranoia that assumes just because of some outbreak of ( Read more... ) -
Bay Area in December
Heavily thinking about coming to the Bay Area again for my birthday (December 15), so been looking at tickets for Thursday December 13 (so I can make Chicken that night) and then leaving Monday 17th.
Anyone have any crash-space for that time? Will be planning to rent a car, so shouldn't need getting taxiid around.
