really random comment here. The drug laws are like that because crack cocaine is more addictive and easier to make and get than straight cocaine. when they were cracking down on drugs in new york in the 80s and 90s the laws were set that way because more people, typically lower class who commited the most crimes, were getting high off crack cocaine. so they figured lock up those with the crack cocaine to stop crime more than the rich white community who just partakes in regular cocaine. i guess they never changed. rediculous. but you made a good point about how when you break it down its a huge amount of crack cocaine.
