Week 3
Dayshift 36 - Day 12
Claude finds Guy in the chapel. After an awkward start, his friend explains to him some of the history behind Sync, and the fact replicas exist on Auldrant. Claude still feels bad about what happened, but Guy reminds him that there wasn’t much he could have done to prevent it. Before they part ways, Guy tells him there’s something else he needs to say, but it’ll have to wait until later.
Claude eats brunch with Dias, who automatically knows something is wrong. The blond tells his rival about last night’s events, and eventually the conversation switches to Ashton’s strange disappearance. Claude does his best to assure Dias that he’s all right.
Bowman Jean, now known as “Archer”, pays Claude a visit and slips him some medicine.
Puzzled over recent events, Claude tries to take some time to relax in the courtyard. His reprieve is short-lived, however, as he’s soon approached by Sync the Tempest. Unable to stomach the horrible things the God-General says for too long, Claude eventually snaps and is promptly sedated.
Claude struggles to stay awake as he waits for nightshift to start. Thankfully, tonight’s steak manages to perk him up a little.
Nightshift 36
Still hazy from the drugs, Claude gathers Guy’s things together before heading out.
He realizes he’s probably running late, so he does his best to pick up the pace.
Claude’s a bit sheepish when Guy notices he’s been sedated, but he decides to explain what happened before putting Guy’s things up for him. Then, to Claude’s relief, Guy agrees to let him escort him to the clinic.
Concerned that Claude implied he’d be on his own, he asks him what he intends to do after their run to the clinic.
Claude explains that, though there are other places he’d like to check out, his primary concern is finding Ashton, who’s been missing for awhile now.
After giving Claude a little encouragement, Guy finally explains his gynophobia. Needless to say, Claude is a little taken aback, and asks for some clarification.
Claude tries to process what Guy has told him as they continue on their way.
Claude thanks Guy for confiding in him, and the two briefly talk about how well-adjusted Guy seems. They then part ways for the night.
Dayshift 37 - Day 13
Claude eats breakfast with Anise. They briefly discuss radio clues before Claude tries to arrange a meeting between her and Leon.
While taking a shower, Claude is spoken to by Zelnick.
During lunch, Claude is approached by Kagura with a present for Dr. Sohma. Claude agrees to deliver it for her when he gets the chance. After she leaves, he’s approached by Dias.
Arts and Crafts: Claude meets Guy's roommate, Okita Souji, who shows him how to make paper cranes.
Dinner (M44): Claude reads some more H.G. Wells, though he's worried about Ashton's seeming disappearance.
Nightshift 37
From M44: Claude gets ready to collect his sword before heading out. He wonders if Guy will be okay going to the clinic by himself.
M12: Claude eventually makes it to Hughes' room. Ed arrives to make the sword, and Leon gets to sit in on the demonstration in hopes of being able to perform this kind of alchemy sometime.
Leon and Claude head to the clinic to meet Guy, but not before Claude apologizes for heading out of the bookstore so suddenly back during Doyleton.
Clinic: Claude, Leon and Guy decide to head to the second floor.
As they walk, Claude wonders what Dias is doing, but he tries not to worry about it. As a way to get his mind off those kinds of things, Claude suggests that Leon should meet with Anise sometime. Guy jokes that Anise is already taken, but Claude tries to encourage Leon to make friends with her anyway. They walk up the stairs, and Leon agrees to think about it.
Second floor: They reach the second floor and decide to head for the pharmacy. After kicking down the door, they head inside.
Pharmacy: They fill up a bag with medicine before heading out. After deciding to get juice for Ed, they go towards one of the staff only rooms.
Staff Lounge: The trio find some orange juice in the mini-fridge, and Claude swipes some gum.
Dayshift 38 - Day 14
Breakfast: Claude meets Alleluja Haptism, and he's once again reminded of the differences in memories among even the Earthlings in the Institute.
Patients' Library: Claude tells Dias about his new sword, and his rival asks him to accompany him to the basement. They decide to give Ashton's sword to Guy and ask the Auldrantian if he'd like to come to.
Lunch: Sync sits by Claude and harasses him.
Game Room: Claude and Guy have a lengthy discussion, in which Guy agrees to take Ashton's sword and to come along with Claude and Dias to the basement tonight. In order to have a lighter conversation, Claude asks Guy if he's familiar with the Game Boy, and then explains the kinds of video games he has in his own time. Their chat takes on a more serious tone, however, when Claude is reminded that there's still a lot about Guy he doesn't know...
Nightshift 38
M44: Claude gives Guy Ashton's sword. When Dias walks in unannounced, Claude snaps at him.
M-B Block Hallway: As they head out, Claude realizes he overreacted, but he doesn't feel like analyzing the situation too much. While Guy tries to play mediator, Dias thinks of his own theories.
West Wing, North Hall: Claude begins to feel foolish for his outburst, and Guy asks Dias about Mr. Radio.
West Wing, South Hall: Dias talks about his meeting with Mr. Radio, and Claude recalls that Luke's disappearance was that same night.
Main Hallway: The trio is surprised someone had to hack their way through the sun room doors. Dias goes through the barricade first before Claude even has a chance to object.
Sun Room: It looks like they just missed the action, whatever it was. They pass through as quickly as possible.
Cafeteria: They pass through the cafeteria with no problems
Kitchen: The coast is clear, and they head into the walk-in fridge.
Fridge: There's a small crowd waiting to get in, but eventually the trio get their turn.
The Grand Ballroom: They decide to head into the western hall. Thankfully, they have enough people in their group to get inside, but Claude can't help but think this is set up like some sort of game.
West Hall: The door locks behind them before any of them can do anything about it. Guy notices how out-of-place the tapestries look in comparison to the rest of the hall, and Dias suggests they cut one down the next time they head through a door.
The Sphinx's Chamber: They're stunned to find a strange creature, though Claude is the only one who knows what it is. Dias accepts the challenge to a riddle without consulting anyone, and, after some collaboration, Guy gives the right answer. They're giving a decorative shield for their trouble and find out that more trials await them in the future.
Dayshift 39 - Day 15
Breakfast: A chat with Donna Noble.
Sun Room: Claude finds out Dr. Sohma isn't working at Landel's anymore. It's then he sees Asch again and greets him, but is stunned to learn he has no memories of before. Claude does his best to fill him on life at Landel's, though he can't help but feel like he's missing something important...
Lunch: Claude tries to tell Kagura that Dr. Sohma is gone but doesn't get the chance.
Music Room: Claude is shell-shocked when a younger version of his own father approaches him. Dias soon joins the conversation.
Dinner: Claude meets Emmett Cullen, his new roommate.
Nightshift 39
M44: Guy brings Claude's juice to his room, and Claude apologizes for acting like a jerk the other night. Dias shows up and is all business. They head out.
M-B Hallway: They talk about what part of the basement they should explore next.
North Hall 1-A: Dias questions where Guy will be able to use Ashton's sword effectively, and Claude gets a little annoyed.
South Hall: Dias explains that he's just curious about Guy's abilities, and Guy admits that he can't fight with his best if he's using Ashton's sowrd.
Main Hallway: Claude and Dias contemplate organizing sparring matches for other swordsmen. Then they discuss their lack of advanced techniques, and Guy mentions Earth's lack of fonons.
Sun Room: Everyone is surprised to find it empty, but they continue on their way.
Cafeteria: The trio discover Ophelia fighting with Kagura (of Gintama fame), and they try to help out. Ophelia soon abandons the fight, though, and Claude tries to carry an unconscious Takasugi to safety.
Dayshift 40 -- Day 16
Breakfast: Claude checks on Takasugi and is somewhat affected by his charisma.
Recreational Field: Sync harasses Claude again, and it's all he can do to keep himself from punching him in front of the nurses. Sync mocks Claude for relying on his friends, but Claude maintains there's nothing wrong with that.
Lunch: Claude explains to Dias his connection to Ronixis, and they talk about what he ought to do about the "Thomas" issue. Before they part ways, Claude apologizes to Dias.
Greenhouse: Claude chats with Ronixis and learns the constellations don't match up with the Earth they remember.
Dinner: Claude spends dinner reading.
Nightshift 40
M44: Guy comes to Claude's room and they head out to deliver their supplies.
M-B Hallway: Claude asks if Dias gave Guy too much grief about his gynophobia. Claude decides not to tell him about meeting his dad for not, but he is surprised to learn that Luke came back.
M-A Hallway: Guy asks if Claude would be willing to donate the meat cleaver to Luke before they head off to deliver their supplies.
M22: Claude drops the juice off and manages to get out in one piece.
M-A Hallway: Claude and Guy meet up again and head off to meet Dias.
Main Hallway: Claude agrees to find Luke the next day, and then they head off into the sun room with Dias.
Sun Room: The trio run into a brainwashed Yuffie Kisaragi, and Claude is poisoned. Dias calls for a retreat, and Guy falls back from fighting her.
Game Room: Dias tends to Claude's wounds, and he struggles to stay awake as Guy sees to Dias. By the time he starts feeling a bit better, night ends.
Day 41 -- Day 17
Breakfast: Sync comes to bother Claude again. It's the same old crap until Leon joins them, sending Claude into a silent panic mode. In order to reduce what Sync can learn about Leon, he spills juice all over the replica.
Courtyard: Claude admits to Ronixis that his real name isn't Thomas.
Lunch: While eating lunch with Guy, Claude tells him about Ronixis and asks him to keep an eye on him if he finds the chance. It looks like that Luke is missing, though.
Showers: A conversation with Asch reveals the existence of an invisible enemy that makes people cough up hairballs.
Dinner: Claude eats alone, with only his thoughts to keep him company.
Nightshift 41
M44: After preparing for the night, Claude heads out to meet with his friends.
M-B Hallway: Claude meets up with Guy, and they go to meet with Dias together.
West Wing, North Hall, 1-A: As they walk, Claude asks Guy about his arrangement to get a sword from.
West Wing, South Hall, 1-A: Claude is happy to hear Okita is the one arranging for Guy to get a sword. They decide to look a little more for Dias.
M-A Hallway: Celes heals Claude, Guy and Dias. Weak from her spells, Dias has to carry her back into one of the patient rooms. While they're waiting, Claude tells Guy he thinks they should do something to repay her. He also suggests that they consider cutting through the courtyard to get to the basement, though it's true that way has its own dangers. When Dias returns, they head out.
West Wing South Hall 1-A: Claude suggests going through the courtyard sometime, and Dias agrees it's worth keeping in mind.
Main Hallway, 1-center: Before heading into the sun room, Claude suggests that they keep a tight formation.
Sun Room: The coast seems clear, though there's a bunch of junk strewn across the room. Instead of investigating, they press on.
Cafeteria: Upon spotting a raging battle, the three debate over what to do until a thick fog blankets the room and blood seeps from the walls and floor. Night suddenly ends.
Dayshift 42
Bus 2: While riding the bus to Doyleton, Claude meets Indiana Jones and warns him about the first time he ever went to town.
Morning: Magus Park: Claude speaks with Ronixis, and they ultimtaely discuss ways for the older man to get armed.
Noon: The Twin Pine Restaurant: Lunch with Asch.
Afternoon: Twine Pines: A chat with Dias about the strange way last night ended reveals that Guy had been more unnerved by it than Claude realized.
Evening: Bill's Hardware Store: Claude runs into Guy at the hardware store, and is very impressed with his friend's ability to build houses.
Nightshift 42
Bill's Hardware Store: The night starts off with a bang when zombies suddenly start invading the store. After grabbing some supplies to help themselves survive, someone throws a hammer at Claude. Though he's not seriously injured, Guy grabs Claude and they make a break for it.
Main Street: The two try to decide what course of action to take and nearly get hit by a car in the process. Claude settles on turning down a road with less traffic.
Bohr Street: While running, Claude and Guy are ambushed by zombies, and Claude is bitten in the shoulder. When things start looking grim, they're saved by none other than Ronixis.
Main Street: After the three notice that some patients are taken refuge on the rooftops of buildings, Claude suggests that they head to the bookstore in order to do the same.
The Bookworm: Claude's strange cravings from a few moments before start getting worse when he smells blood in the air. Horrified, he realizes that the wound is beginning to rot. Meanwhile, the group finds a gun and decides to let Ronixis hold onto it. They head outside in order to try to climb onto the roof from the street.
Main Street: Once outside, Claude tries to convince Guy and Ronixis to leave him behind and save themselves. They insist on staying together. Just as Claude relents, they're attacked by another wave of zombies, and Claude accidentally takes a bite out of Guy's chest during the chaos.
